News Release - October 12th 2000 - Orleans, MA

We are pleased to announce more new licenses for the Masonic Angel Fund.

#4 Siloam Lodge AF & AM, Westborough, Massachusetts 10/9/2000.

The chairman of the Siloam Lodge Masonic Angel Fund is well known to the MAF being that he is R.W. Carmen D. Borgia - also known as the presiding Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Massachusetts. Carmen has a number of excellent ideas for corporate fund raising on a foundation-wide basis.

#5 Winslow Lewis Lodge/Adams Lodge Masonic Angel Fund, Wellefleet,
Massachusetts 10/10/2000

An interesting development accompanies MAF #5 - Winslow Lewis Lodge AF & AM of Boston has partnered with Adams Lodge AF & AM of Wellfleet, Mass. to bring the Masonic Angel Fund to the children of Wellfleet, Massachusetts. This is an excellent application of a concept we would love to see other Lodges try - inner city Lodges partnering with rural Lodges located in areas of great need. The MAF Board salutes R.W. Fred Schulenburg (Treasurer of Winslow Lewis and Secretary of Adams) for his forethought in bringing everyone together to make this happen!

As of this writing, our affiliate Masonic Angel Funds have raised a total of nearly $10,000 in the last eight weeks (and this does NOT include undistributed matching funds from the Citizens Bank grant. We continue to take pride of the fund-raising success enjoyed by our new MAF's. Once again, this underscores our premise that the Brethren will give generously to help children in need.

New requests for MAF adoption information have come in from Alaska, Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, California and Georgia. Regionally, MAF volunteers are working with Howard Lodge (S. Yarmouth), Marine Lodge (Falmouth), DeWitt Clinton Lodge (Sandwich) and Union Lodge (Nantucket).
We have also received queries from dozens of Lodges on the "mainland".

If you would like to explore MAF adoption for your Lodge, please drop an email to or for further information.

Past Grand High Priest/GRAC-MA, John Millard MacNeill will offer seminars on the Masonic Angel Fund this weekend at a meeting of the Grand Lodge of Maine. He will speak in detail about the Masonic Angel Fund program and how it can serve as a community service and "rebuilding program" for Lodges with even the most meager of resources.

Universal Lodge in Orleans, Massachusetts is working with nurses in the Nauset region's elementary schools on a program to provide inexpensive alarm clocks to children who are not the morning people some of us are.
More will be released about this program as information becomes available.
